OUR APPROACH

Train the space between pressure and response.

You can’t always choose what happens. You can develop more choice in how you respond—and greater capacity for what comes next.

01 / THE MISSING SPACE

Less automatic. More intentional.

We spend much of life thinking and acting. Sometimes it’s simply act, act, act—one demand after another.

That’s not always a problem. But under pressure, our reactions can make the decision before we’ve noticed them.

Not to stop acting. To give yourself another possibility before choosing what comes next.

02 / THE PERFORMANCE CYCLE

Prepare. Perform. Restore.

Before → During → After → Before again

Prepare for a real demand, practice responding when it arrives, and recover afterward. What you notice in the moment tells you what to train for next.

“What stood out to me was the time-to-benefit ratio.”

Dave Long, Co-Founder, Orangetheory Fitness

Make room for choice.

03 / A PRACTICAL SKILL

Pressure can pull us into automatic responses. Awareness creates an opportunity to respond differently.

These are flexible cues, not rigid steps. Awareness, adjustment, and action often overlap.

PAUSE
Interrupt automatic momentum.

BREATHE
Notice your breath and adjust when useful.

FEEL
Sense your body, your intuition, and what’s happening around you.

THINK
Discern what matters and consider your options.

ACT
Choose your next response.

“It’s become a habit for performing at my best.”

Malachi Bierstein, CEO, ScienceMedia

04 / IN EVERYDAY LIFE

It’s a conversation. Not a breathing test.

You’re preparing to deliver difficult feedback. The conversation gets tense. Your shoulders tighten and you feel the urge to defend your point.

Training gives you a better chance of noticing that reaction, choosing your words, and recovering afterward. No screen or formal practice is required in the conversation.

Start with guided practice. Apply what you learn in real conversations, a demanding day, or a moment of transition. Reflect, adapt, repeat. The aim is to develop capabilities you can access on your own.

—— 05 / THE PEOPLE

The people behind ViaBreath.

Our backgrounds give us different perspectives on the same challenge. One rooted in human physiology and high-stakes clinical care. The other in innovation, business leadership, and bringing health and performance solutions to people at scale.

Together, we connect scientific understanding with practical application. We founded ViaBreath to bring greater credibility, accessibility, and rigor to breath-based performance training, helping people develop skills they can use in the moments that matter.
